Voulisma Beach

Istro beach is located 12 km east of Agios Nikolaos and 22 km north of Ierapetra, in the district of Kalo Chorio. It is built in a fertile valley with olive groves where Kalos Potamos river flows and has been developed for tourism. This development was fortunately mild and the visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful beaches that are located in its three contiguous bays which are easily accessed via the northern road axis of Crete. The beaches of the area are Karavostasi, Agios Panteleimonas, Pilos and the most famous, Voulisma. Voulisma is located in the second gulf of Istro and is also known as Golden Sand. It is one of the most beautiful beaches of Crete and often appears on postcards of the island. It has a wonderful beach with white sand that gives it a wonderful exotic blue color and It is very well organized.
